A BLEND OF BENEFICIAL BACTERIA, YEASTS AND FUNGI

The biggest advantage to EquineCare Probiotic is that it has very few ingredients. The ones it does have are natural, non-toxic and safe. It is a proprietary blend of GRAS (Generally Recognised As Safe) listed beneficial microbes, billions of them and water.

This blend, when applied, creates an environment that pathogens can no longer survive in. It does this in a number of ways:

Occupation/Colonisation - The microbes work together to occupy and colonize all the space, leaving no room for the bad bugs to live.

Predation - Many of the microbes happily attack and feed on the bad bacteria and fungi in an infection, depleting their numbers quickly.

Quorum Sensing - The numbers game. This is the process by which we introduce such high numbers of good microbes that the pathogens (disease causing microbes) respond by admitting defeat and shutting down.

This combination of approaches means EquineCare Probiotic is ideal for everything from regular preventative maintenance to tackling minor bacterial and fungal skin infections in your horses. Another benefit to using only beneficial probiotics, is our treatment doesn’t contribute to the rising epidemic of antibiotic resistance happening in our horse populations.

In fact, we strongly recommend when using our product that you don’t use any antibiotic or antifungal topical treatments at the same time, including natural oils, lotions and washes. These will not discriminate and will kill off the good microbes we are relying on. Most oral treatments should have no effect against our formula, but if you’re unsure, please feel free to contact us.

Another benefit to our product is it doesn’t require the often painful process of scab removal. We believe scabs are there to protect damaged tissue and assist in healing. Once the tissue beneath the scab has healed sufficiently, they will start to lift and come away on their own. This saves your horse an uncomfortable situation and owners a potentially dangerous one.
